Change is hard. It brings uncertainty, and with that, many fears come to the surface.
At the same time, change is at the core of agility. We very often say the phrase “embrace uncertainty” in the agile world.
But how to embrace something when it is so scary?
We humans seek safety and stability, and at the same time we long for adventure, exploration and experimentation.
Within 1.5 year, my life changed completely, and even though this journey of change has been a rollercoaster emotionally, it has also been a unique experience of personal growth and exploration. Through this experience, I learned a lot about myself as a person, but also, I learned a lot about my role as an Agile and Organisational Coach - a role that often guides people, teams, and organisations through change.
We talk a lot about inspecting and adapting in Agile, but what about the step before adapting?
What about the moment of acknowledgment?
In this talk I want to share with you, some of my learnings about change and how we humans process it. I want to share some analogies between my personal life experience and situations I face in organisations as an Agile and Organisational Coach.
My hope is to enable you to see change as an opportunity for growth, while embracing and accepting your humanity when going through it.
