Recent research showed that we have an addition bias: We tend to solve tasks by adding things, not subtracting things even if subtracting would lead to a better solution. This also hurts us in IT. We already drown in complexity. However, whenever we need to solve a task, we tend to add more to the already overwhelming complexity. But how can we escape this quandary?
In this session, we will discuss several approaches and options to tackle our addition bias in IT in order to contain the complexity explosion. Surprisingly often, less is more.
